SketchNotes

I’ve always had a problem paying attention.

In class, in meetings, with girlfriends…

And it’s got me in lots of trouble (especially with the latter).

The problem is that my mind likes to wander. Often to Utopian worlds filled with unicorns, oompa loompas and superhero powers. My right brain simply likes to take over while my left brain struggles to pay attention.

To keep both sides of the brain functioning I often find myself sketching while I am listening. I’ve found that this keeps my right brain occupied while my left is allowed to process and do all the things it does best.

Imagine my delight when I stumbled across probably the coolest summary notes from a conference I have ever seen:

SketchNotes by Mike Rohde

These SketchNotes are from Mike Rohde who attended Coudal’s SEED Conference. (If you’re not aware of Coudal Partner’s you should be. They do brilliant work.) View all of the SketchNotes by Mike here.

So, for everyone who I ever offended while you were talking and I was busy sketching away, I really was paying attention. Promise. Okay fine. I was most of the time, the rest of the time I was just drawing oompa loompas hoping you would stop talking…

yes, i can attest that you definitely do scribble … and i know most of the time, you just want me to stop talking!

anyways, did u you know someone is building a site using inspiredideas.com? and they are trademarking the term … you better start doing the same in Canada.

Hey - I just noticed this comment. If this is in fact true, then you should have the 1 up in Canada for “first use”… however, I don’t think ‘inspiredideas.org” is a trademark in and of itself. In any event, the area of web domain names/registration is still new and iffy and it’s not all that easy to rectify using existing TM and Copyright laws… I can check my course notes or talk to my IP law prof if you’d like though.
