I just finished watching a documentary called “Born into Brothels”.
It was depressing as hell.
But what struck me was that these kids were no different than any other kid - they laugh, play, dance and sing. And most importantly they continue to dream.
The only difference is that 99.9% of them will never get a chance to find out what could of been. What could of been if they weren’t born in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
After watching this I had the idea of a program called “Cameras for Kids”.
(A bit of background: the documentary is centered around providing these children who were born into brothels with cameras so that they can document their environment. The pictures have gone on to be sold at auctions to help these kids go to school).
I’m glad to write that after doing some research, the idea already exists.
Check it out, Kids with Cameras.
